on May 26th 2024 an officer from the monoman police department was waiting at a red light when he observed a vehicle swerve out of its Lane onto the sidewalk hitting a rock before driving back onto the road hello officer AO with the police department my BRS my brakes were not working corly okay that's why I was doing what I was doing so I would cause an accident okay and are they working correctly now yeah they're working good now okay sure it wasn't a lack of paying attention to what was happening in front of us no it was not okay cuz I find it hard to believe that between there and here I'm honest with it okay I sometimes these brakes take a little bit time to pump up there's a little hole in there but I got him back okay do we feel like it's safe to be driving then yes it's good enough okay despite the fact that we just almost caused a crash back here you feel like it's safe to be driving yes it's safe okay driver's license proof of insurance my friend's working on the insurance C okay so do you have insurance on the vehicle or not he does but he has to get a new insurance card this this one's expired okay he's working on get a new one all right hold tight I'll be else car yeah you got a bumper sticker that says drive now text later that's kind of ironic huh but you you don't do any drugs no drugs in the car car okay I got to clean it out yeah there's a couple things that you need to work on on the car because it's not quite road legal I got me and my friend are working get that yeah I mean you don't have mirrors either yeah we're working on that I gotard activity and that's dishonesty okay okay so OB viously I'm not an idiot I know that if you have a hole in your brake line and your brakes don't work they don't just magically start working a block later okay so I appreciate the fact that you're honest with the other officer but to be completely Square you lied to me I know I'm sorry okay so on top of that the world is not your garbage can all right okay I watch you throw the cigarette out the window I'll pick it up okay well you're already getting the citation for that as well I'll pick it up though okay that's fine you can pick it up after we're done okay I'm going to hand you that just so I don't lose it cuz I'm going to pull all these out and go through them with you quick you're all they're all going to have the same court date that's the insurance information okay they're all going to have the same court date but it's different citations okay none of the appearances are mandatory meaning if you don't want to appear you don't have to if you wish to contest any of the citations then by all means appear at that court date all right how much are the tickets okay well there's a couple of them so I'll let you look at that when I'm done all right so the first citation is going to be for littering okay obviously for the cigarette button all right second one's going to be for resisting obstruction so the obstruction is obviously the Li to me about what happened okay that okay like I said you can them okay the next one's going to be for texting while driving after that it's going to be off-road operation for operating your vehicle off of Mark roadway okay uh past that it's going to be failure to keep vehicle under control and the last one's going to be failure to maintain your brakes cuz that's the first one I wrote you before you told the C the other officer what uh the real reason was so if you wish to contest any of those in court you're more than welcome to just understand that all of these citations were given there are a bunch of verbal warnings that are going to be given so I understand that uh the vehicle is not technically owned by you right okay so it's owned by Dustin you have no mirrors on the left or right side of the vehicle the rear bumper there's but if I pick if I pick up the stier butt could you just throw that one out that's up that's between you and the City attorney okay I issued the citation I'm not a fan of voiding a citation just because someone says they're going to change their behavior all right cuz trust me this is not the first cigarette butt we thrown out of the vehicle is it no it's not okay right so my an ashtray to keep in your vehicle that you can empty into an appropriate receptacle all right I'm going to pick that one up there okay well I appreciate that do you have any questions for me about any of the citations that you've got today no okay any questions about the overall situation figure I'm going to pay all this okay well you can work with City attorney on that as well maybe set up payment plan or whatever needs to happen all right seeing as this vehicle I given the condition of the vehicle I'm sure you agree that this vehicle is not worth over $2,000 correct no okay so due to that I'm not going to do a full dt4000 a state required crash report what I'm going to do is a non-reportable crash form um essentially it's saying that the vehicle isn't worth over 2,000 the amount of damage done doesn't meet the threshold to do a crash report okay so if you want that information the case number is on those it's right here agency space says m241 1277 if you need any of that information you can request it from uh our office all right he's just going to grab some pictures of your vehicle quick any questions about any of that okay if you choose to pay pay the citations without talking to the City attorney the instructions on how to do that are on the envelope all right well I'll just go to City Hall to the courthouse and pay sorry I go to the courthouse and pay them yep I know but there are instructions on how to pay on the envelope yeah all right okay I know I'm I'm just okay anything else that's it okay so seeing as you don't currently have insurance on the vehicle it's not operable okay you can't drive it on Wisconsin roadways you are required to have insurance I know that you said that he's got insurance but you are unable to provide me proof of insurance when requested which is state law okay so it's one of the things you're also getting the verbal warning for all right um that being said I'm not going to sit here all day I've obviously got better things to do now that I have all complete right um but understand that if you continue to drive and you continue to behave the way that you're behaving you could get pulled over and you could receive additional citations make sense yes okay Jason was found guilty on all six citations He was ordered to pay $1,240 in fines
