You're going to start with your pinky and end with your pinky. >> It's going to take a minute. Joe, just tell me right now. >> I'm trying to do the test to see if if that's going to happen again. I don't want to. I told you I accident like I took my anxiety pills. I went to go pick up my son. I'm not trying to like do anything about my probation. >> Please. Like you don't understand. You you do realize, Jennifer, you do realize that your medication is in the same It's the same thing as drinking alcohol. So, if you're taking an anxiet an anti-depressant for your anxiety, it's doing the exact same thing as if you're drinking alcohol. So, then you're going to add alcohol on top of that. It's making it even worse. We had this conversation yesterday. You're going to hurt somebody. You're going to either hurt yourself or you're going to crash into somebody and kill them. I don't get it. You're a teacher. You can't count backwards from 72 to 51 or do the alphabet or do this simple stuff that I'm telling you to do. Nothing. I have no other option but to place you under arrest again. Okay. >> Okay. Okay. >> Turn around. Turn around. That's me. Relax your hands. Relax. >> Do you have mochas on your sweater or what? What's all over you? >> Excuse me. What do you have on your sweater is what I'm asking. I don't know what it is that you feel like. Have a seat. >> I know. I know. But um >> So, I've been going through like a rehab process. Can we call my counselor? >> Hold on. >> Cuz I want to go back into rehab. >> You need to do something cuz you're you're not doing well right now. And you know that we don't enjoy doing this, right? Like I would much rather be dealing with something else. Can we caution? >> Hold on. >> Watch your foot there. >> Take your apple off. >> Ow. Can we put my in the front because I have like an issue with my arm? >> No. >> And >> adjust yourself. So, turn and lean forward to take the pressure off your hands. >> I have like I have a shoulder issue. >> Okay. It'll be a quick ride. Sit tight. Can I help you? >> Okay. She's been placed under arrest. >> Yeah. >> All right. Uh, do you have any details for me? Anything like that >> right now? She's going for a DWI. >> Oh, man. She'll be able to call you as soon as she can. All right. >> I appreciate you guys. Thank you. >> Take care. >> If you're not going to take me to a detox, please clear. >> Okay. Come out here. >> Can I get >> Come out here. >> I just want to get my detox medication. >> I couldn't get it today. Okay. Go this way. >> Go. >> I don't want to go to the hospital. >> Okay. You're not going to the hospital right now. >> Okay. I >> There's There's There's There's literally no reason for you to go to the hospital. >> No, I don't. >> Come on. >> I need to go to the hospital. >> I You There's a process that we need to do. >> Okay. >> I I want to go to the hospital. >> For what? >> Because >> Okay. We We took you to the hospital twice for no reason. >> But they gave me my medication. >> Okay. Actually, they didn't. >> Yes. >> You think they did, but they didn't. >> She gave me a pill. >> Yeah. She g She didn't give you your medication because you were drinking. Okay. Come in here and go to your right. And then make another right right here. Want to go through the door that's open on the left right there. Get right over here. Just stand right there. I'll take those handcuffs off. >> Still nothing in your mouth, right? Yeah. >> Can I just get my anxiety medication? >> Yep. >> Like how fast could she get up? probably pretty quick. >> Okay, Jennifer, what I'm about to tell you is very important. So, I need you to listen to me. Okay. First of all, under arrest for DWI, the New Mexico play consent act requires you to submit to a breath test to determine the alcohol content of your blood. After you take our test, you have the right to choose an additional independent test. If you choose to take this additional independent test, you have the right to a reasonable opportunity to arrange for a physician, a licensed nurse, lab tech, or technologist who is employed by a hospital or physician of your own choice to perform an additional chemical test. The cost of this additional test will be paid for by the law enforcement agency. Do you agree to take our test? Our test is going to be the breath test. >> No. I cannot force you to take our test or test, but if you refuse, you will lose your New Mexico driver's license or non resident operating proof for one year. >> If you are convicted in court of driving under the influence, you may also receive a greater sentence because you refuse to be tested. Do you understand that? >> No. >> And with that in mind, are you going to do the breath test? >> No. >> Okay. >> What's that? >> Is there an option to go to? I can't take you to a detox place. There's none open right now. And that's just not the process. >> The process is you doing it. >> Well, I can't do that in jail. >> I do when you get out. >> What? >> Yeah, I know. I've done that, but I need like help. >> I know you do. >> I [snorts] totally agree. Don't look at me like I need help. >> I just said I totally agree with you. >> So why are you so Don't be hateful. >> I I'm what? >> Don't be hateful. >> I'm not hateful. >> Don't look at me like that. >> I'm just telling I >> told you like I've done this for like years. >> Okay. >> I'm asking you for help >> and I'm I'm actually I am helping you stay out of prison is what I'm doing >> by stopping. I need help. >> I know you do. >> So, >> but you need to do it. >> I've been there. I've I've been like with so many things like I just I I had a really bad breakup. >> You need to commit yourself to do it. >> I have been. >> I have a a person who I go to every week. I've been sober for like >> Okay, so hold on. Hold that thought for a second. I ran the machine. If you're going to comply with the breath test, now's the time to do that. If you don't do it, it's going to time out about 3 or 4 minutes. >> Detox. Please, please, please take not. >> This isn't Colorado. >> So, here's my options. No hospital people here are getting care. >> So the process is is that we take you down to the jail again >> and they book you in >> and they probably release you in the morning and then you go to detox. That's the process. >> Not going to pro. It's the weekend. I'm not going to see her in the morning. You know that. >> No. No. They they do video. You already know that she's not going to see us yet. >> They do a video arrangement. >> Is she working on Saturdays? >> I just said they do video arignment. Can I go to detox, please? >> Jennifer, I don't There's not a process that we have to take people to detox. I wish >> you soed up. Why did you just hop in? Why don't you help in you see me struggling? Why don't you help people? I'm just trying to make I don't need this [ __ ] drama. I need help. >> I have a broken woman. My husband beat me for years. He's always in jail. >> Why can't you help me? Begging you for help. >> I'm okay. I am like an okay person normally. >> You normally see like educated people in this much of a mess. >> Actually, I do >> cuz I can't fight no more. Help me. If you really care as an officer, you would help me. >> I am helping you actually. >> And help me. I just can't believe we're dealing with this again. >> I'm just I'm >> I've been doing this job a long time and I'm just shocked that we're dealing with with this again. >> You know what? If you don't feel like I'm not I need help and it wasn't I wanted to take a few >> and I need to take my medication. >> You said you already took four of them. >> Yeah, I have. >> Yeah. So, you should be good for quite a while. >> No. >> No, it's not. You know, it's not. >> No, that's >> Yeah, but you don't take four. Uh, since I got out. Yeah. Four. One every hour. >> One every hour. That would be a lot more. >> When did you get out? >> 1:45. >> And your mom got her car out. >> Come on over here. Make a right right there and then sit on that bench, please. >> Well, you know, I need help. >> I I totally agree. >> That's the only answer I can really give you right now, Jennifer. Well, doesn't everybody try and help other people and maybe this is really what your job is? Why I am I tell you why, you know, a detox? >> And you know what I'm doing? >> Take me to a detox. Please take me to a detox. >> And you know what I'm doing? I'm actually keeping you out of prison. >> Go ahead. Come on up here and put your jewelry and sunglasses and stuff in this box, please. >> No. >> I would like to go to the hospital for medical. And what are they going to do for you exactly? There >> I have to get my anxiety medication. >> So basically take you to the hospital to get you more drugs. >> Does it Does that sound something like we should be doing that? >> I don't even know how that is something you define for a person. But if that's how you want to put it, >> go with your bad self. >> Okay. Come on up here and put your jewelry and stuff in here. I my anxiety medication. Do you think Joe's the best place for me? [snorts] >> No, I actually think rehab would be a good place for you. >> And you're not going to help me get there. >> How would I do that? >> I just asked you help me get into >> I don't I don't have the ability to do that. >> Well, then who does? >> The judge. right now. You could take me to a detox. >> No, I can't. >> No, you can't. Texas needs an in California. >> Okay, come on over here. I'll let you use your phone in a minute. When was the last time you took your meds? And and be super honest with me. An hour ago. >> An hour ago. Mhm. >> So, you should be good for quite a while. They don't last for so long. >> What's that? She's been in the house for so long. Jennifer, go ahead and step out here, please. >> [snorts] >> So, my mom found a detox that I can go through. >> Come on over here. >> Put your shoes on. >> I left my phone over there. Sorry. >> Your what? >> My soul. Okay. >> thing. Can we talk about that? That's not going to happen. >> I'm not allowed to do that. >> You're not. >> Nope. >> It has to It has to be Delilah. >> It does. And what you need to do is you need to tell the judge because believe it or not, the judges love hearing that. If you tell the judge, "Judge, I need help tomorrow." They have all the information that you need to get into detox or to get some kind of help. They have all that help. That's what the court is there for. That's what you need to do. >> But I'm not going to see her tomorrow, right? >> I don't know. So, I just talked to my sergeant and she says she does do arraignments on Saturdays. I knew she did. I knew she did them on Sundays, but the sergeant just said she does them on Saturday. >> Be super happy with this whole situation. >> What's that? >> She's not going to be super happy with this situation. >> I agree. But you need to tell her if it's her or it might be Maxel, you whoever you see, you need to say, "Your honor, I need to get help today. Can you please give me information on how to do that?" And they will do that. >> Are you going to write that in your report that I'm asking you for help? No, it'll be honest. >> But please at least tell them that I need it because >> you need to tell them. I can tell them until I'm blue in the face. You're the only one that can do it. >> I will tell them. And I've done so good. And like I told you tonight, I just took all my pills, but I've been through so many things. I've gone through like so many detox programs and I fight >> talking about me and the sergeant and the other officer back there. >> I don't like that >> and we were like we were just saying that we don't think you're a bad person. >> We just know that you have a serious problem. You do >> and you need to get help. >> I been through so many things like with my ex-husband. He used to beat me regularly. Not with him anymore, though. Good. >> Thank God. >> Okay, come on over here. Go. Go to your right. And then make a left right there. Right here. Right here. That was a nice Stay stay right here for a second. I have to You're not allowed to go in there with your handcuffs to your front. So, I'm going have to just put these in the back real quick. The girls will yell at me in there if I bring like that. How long have you lived here? >> 11 years. >> 11. >> 10 years. >> 10 years. >> You know who he is. Um, it's okay. >> Yeah. >> You okay? You okay? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. Can we just take us half a step?
