On May 5th, 2023, officers in Fort Pierce, Florida responded to Sam's Club after loss prevention investigators uncovered a months-long fraud scheme carried out by a cashier named Kandra Breland. Using a supervisor's PIN code without authorization, Breland processed 36 fraudulent refund transactions between February and April 2023, routing the money onto debit cards belonging to family members. The total documented loss: over $135,000.
