Her DWI Arrest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byqiCfedx6w Around 8:18 PM on November 16, 2023, Officer Thomas Wilson of the Holmdel Township Police Department was on patrol and he observed a 2022 Nissan driving erratically on South Holland Road. The driver also made a wide turn and failed to stop at a stop sign as she turned onto Telegraph Hill Road. He proceeded to activate his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle came to a stop on Telegraph Hill Road. He approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver, who was identified as 18-year-old Pharyze. Officer Wilson asked Pharyze where she was coming from, and Pharyze told him that she was coming from her boyfriend’s house in Keyport, New Jersey. He subsequently asked her if she had anything to drink or if she had smoked anything, but Pharyze denied being under the influence. No field sobriety tests were administered to determine whether or not Pharyze was sober enough to operate a motor vehicle. Officer Wilson returned to his vehicle to run her license through the system. Instead of writing her citations for the 3 violations she had committed, Officer Wilson decided to be lenient and only cited Pharyze for Careless Driving (39:4-97) and Obstruction of Windshield for Vision (39:3-74). These citations did not come with any points on her license. He proceeded to clear the traffic stop and let her continue to drive after giving her 2 tickets. While Pharyze only received 2 tickets this time, she would later go on to be arrested for her first DWI in Middletown Township, New Jersey on December 24, 2023. -------------------------------------------- Please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and consider supporting this channel (email us for more information). Our content is educational and in compliance with YouTube's Fair Use Policy because we edit several long clips into a concise story. This is similar to other law enforcement channels on YouTube. All videos and case documents were obtained pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq. (P.L. 2001, c. 404). Defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty. The New Jersey Supreme Court has previously affirmed in Salzano v. North Jersey Media Group, 993 A.2d 778 (2010) that “The fair-report privilege reflects the judgment that the need, in a self-governing society, for free-flowing information about matters of public interest outweighs concerns over the uncompensated injury to a person's reputation.” This video advances a compelling public interest. The summary of events was based on records that are “open to public view through open access to public records” as defined in the Salzano case. In Ramos v. Flowers, 429 N.J. Super. 13, the Appellate Division of the Superior Court has also affirmed the right to film law enforcement interactions.
