Watch this police interrogation with intense raw interrogation from the interrogation room as police conduct a full interrogation of a suspect. This raw interrogation footage captures every moment of the suspect interview, complete with deception detection techniques, and criminal psychology in true JCS style interrogation. 1. The Background Crystal Miller Garney, 46, of Ashtabula, was a mother of two. She was last seen at about 9:30 a.m. on September 8, 2021, at her East 14th Street home. Daniel A. Taylor, then about 32, lived at that residence. Police initially said they did not know the exact nature of their relationship; later court summaries described him as her roommate. Heather A. Tinker, then about 36–37 (later linked to Streetsboro), was Taylor’s girlfriend. Randall D. Campbell, then about 46–47, of Ashtabula, was charged as an accomplice in disposing of the body. Ashtabula Police Chief Robert Stell said on September 14, 2021, that police did not yet have a motive. No verified public motive appears in the news reports or appellate summary reviewed here. 2. The Crime Garney was reported missing on September 10, 2021. Foul play was suspected early. On the afternoon of September 13, 2021, her body was found in a railroad right-of-way at Route 167 and March Road in Jefferson Township, wrapped in plastic and cloth. A coroner’s investigator said it had been there for several days. She was identified in part by a tattoo of her children on her leg. Preliminary autopsy results reported by the Ashtabula County Coroner’s Office: gunshot wound to the left side of the head. Death was treated as a homicide dated to September 8, 2021. Trial evidence summarized on appeal: after the shooting, Tinker brought plastic used to wrap the body and helped place it in the back of a pickup truck. She was present when the body was left in a wooded area and covered with pallets. Campbell was also accused of helping dispose of the body. Taylor later admitted, by guilty plea, to the shooting and to dumping the body in Jefferson Township. 3. The Investigation Ashtabula police, with the FBI, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the county sheriff, the coroner’s office, and other local agencies, developed information that led them to the body on September 13, 2021. Taylor, Tinker, and Campbell were questioned that evening and arrested the same day. Initial charges: Taylor — murder, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse. Campbell and Tinker — tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse. They were arraigned September 14, 2021, in Ashtabula Municipal Court. Taylor’s bond was set at $500,000; the others at $50,000 each. An Ashtabula County grand jury later indicted Taylor on murder, tampering with evidence, gross abuse of a corpse, and obstructing justice (case 21 CR 00393). Related cases: Campbell 21 CR 00394; Tinker 21 CR 00395. Key evidence against Tinker, as summarized by the court of appeals: she denied knowing about Garney’s death when questioned, and statements about her whereabouts on September 8 conflicted with text messages police collected. 4. Conviction and Sentencing Campbell pleaded guilty earlier in 2022 to one count of gross abuse of a corpse, a fifth-degree felony. The plea included a stipulated recommendation of 12 months in prison in exchange for truthful testimony against Tinker. Sentencing was set after that testimony; the reviewed sources do not independently confirm the final entry beyond the stipulated recommendation. Taylor pleaded guilty on or about August 17–19, 2022 (prosecutor release cites August 17; news reports cite a plea that week, with trial set for August 23), before Judge Thomas Harris, to murder with a firearm specification, tampering with evidence, and gross abuse of a corpse. Sentence: 15 years to life for murder, plus 3 years on the firearm specification; the other counts merged. Aggregate term reported as 18 years to life under the stipulated plea. Attorney: David Per Due. Tinker’s jury trial was August 23–25, 2022. On August 25, after less than two hours of deliberation, the jury found her guilty of tampering with evidence (F3), obstructing justice (F3), and gross abuse of a corpse (F5). Bond was revoked. Tinker was sentenced to 3 years, 3 years, and 1 year, consecutive, for a total of 7 years. The court cited lack of remorse, dishonesty while the family was searching, and the seriousness of the offense. The Eleventh District Court of Appeals affirmed the sentence on May 6, 2024 (2024-Ohio-1740). true crime, law and crime network, interrogation, interrogation analysis, red thread interrogations, interrogation jcs inspired, interrogation jcs style, interrogation psychology, interrogation psychology jcs inspired, new interrogations 2026,interrogation breakdown, police interrogation psychology, bodycam, interview, case analysis, bodycam footage, crime investigation, police interrogation, suspect interview, int, interrogations 2026,interrogation videos, jcs true crime
