Around 12:53 PM on April 1, 2026, Officer Ariel Sanchez with the West New York Police Department was dispatched to 580 67th Street on a report of a female in a Mini Cooper getting into a physical altercation with another male and female. He arrived on scene and first made contact with 18-year-old Kaybian Jose Perdono and his 17-year-old girlfriend. They told Officer Sanchez that they were initially arguing with another man over a parking space, before a female in a Mini Cooper exited her vehicle and started arguing with the couple. During the argument, the female allegedly threw box with a metallic television mount at both parties, before Kaybian allegedly threw the mount back at the Mini Cooper. As the officers were speaking with the couple, the driver in the Mini Cooper returned to the scene and she was instructed to pull over. The driver of the Mini Cooper was identified as 21-year-old Christina Corbi. Christina initially denied throwing anything towards the couple, before the television mount was located under the driver seat. After she was questioned further, Christina eventually admitted to throwing the mount at them in an act of frustration. Kaybian decided that he wanted to press charges against Christina, so she was placed under arrest. Christina was placed in handcuffs, escorted to the patrol car, and transported to the West New York Police Department for further processing. At the station, she was photographed, fingerprinted, and advised of her charges. After the officers finished processing Christina, she was advised of her charges and released pending her court appearance. She was charged with Aggravated Assault (2C:12-1B(7)). As of September 10, 2026, Christina's case is still pending before the West New York Municipal Court. ---------------------------------------------- Please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and consider supporting this channel (email us for more information). (P.L. 2024, c.16). Defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty. The New Jersey Supreme Court has previously affirmed in Salzano v. North Jersey Media Group, 993 A.2d 778 (2010) that “The fair-report privilege reflects the judgment that the need, in a self-governing society, for free-flowing information about matters of public interest outweighs concerns over the uncompensated injury to a person's reputation.” This video advances a compelling public interest. The summary of events was based on records that are “open to public view through open access to public records” as defined in the Salzano case. In Ramos v. Flowers, 429 N.J. Super. 13, the Appellate Division of the Superior Court has also affirmed the right to film law enforcement interactions.
