On July 17, 2024, Millburn Police officers responded to the Mall at Short Hills regarding a theft report. While investigating an incident at the Sunglass Hut's upper level, Officer Dundon was notified of a second theft at the store's lower level involving the same female suspect. Police located the suspect, who matched the description of a woman with curly blonde hair and red shorts, outside of Macy's. She is accused of concealing two pairs of designer sunglasses—one Persol and one Versace—valued at a total of $647 inside a Nike bag. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide.
