Upon activating my emergency lights and siren, the defendant accelerated the motorcycle he was operating, and took evasive action to flee from the traffic stop. The defendant laid the motorcycle down in the roadway and upon attempting to make contact with the defendant he was able to ride off on the motorcycle. A short time later, the defendant crashed the motorcycle and fled the scene on foot. The defendant was found a short time later approximately one block away.
