On April 18, 2015, a 911 call from a home in Lubbock, Texas, became critical evidence in a double-murder investigation. Police found **27-year-old Jennifer Cruz** and her boyfriend, **30-year-old Albert “Bo” Martinez**, fatally shot inside the home. Jennifer had stayed on the line with 911 long enough for dispatch to hear her pleading with **“David” to put the gun down** before gunshots were heard. Investigators soon turned their attention to **David Ricardo Carrillo**, Jennifer’s former partner and the father of her two children. What followed was a nearly two-hour interrogation as detectives challenged Carrillo’s account and confronted him with evidence—including the 911 recording he could not take back. Carrillo was later convicted in connection with both killings and sentenced to **life in prison without the possibility of parole**.
