On October 27, 2022, Scotch Plains Police responded to a dangerous situation on Route 22 involving 34-year-old Quira Foster. Officers say her Mercedes nearly struck two people, sparking a pursuit that ended in Mountainside. What followed was a chaotic arrest — with Foster resisting, kicking, biting, slapping officers, and even being pepper-sprayed multiple times before finally being restrained. Throughout the incident, Foster repeatedly claimed to be a nurse, a security officer, and even an off-duty cop. She insisted she had “done nothing wrong” and pleaded to go home to her 15-year-old son. The confrontation escalated from roadside commands to a full medical evaluation, processing at the station, and multiple charges including DUI, eluding, and assault on officers. This intense bodycam footage shows the dangers police face when a routine stop spirals out of control.
