Saturday 26 April was Annual Drone Safety Day. At Wiltshire Police, we're proud to showcase how drone technology is transforming public safety. Our Drone Unit plays a vital role in modern policing, providing rapid aerial support in situations where time, visibility, and access are critical. Whether we're: • Assisting in the search for missing persons • Monitoring large-scale public events • Surveying crime and collision scenes • Supporting tactical operations Our drones are assisting officers on the ground to make faster, safer, and more informed decisions. All Wiltshire Police drone pilots are Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) certified and receive regular training to ensure they operate with the highest standards of safety and compliance. Every flight is guided by strict protocols, transparency, and a clear purpose: to protect our communities. We’re proud to be part of a national conversation around safe drone use, innovation in policing, and the future of public safety. As technology continues to evolve, so does our commitment to using it ethically and responsibly. For more information about the Wiltshire Police Drone Team please visit our website.
