Bodycam and interrogation room footage from the Albuquerque Police Department captures the chillingly calm demeanor of a drunk driver, identified as Raymond, moments after he caused a crash that killed one person and critically injured another. On January 23rd, 2023, officers responded to a multi-vehicle crash on I-40. The investigation revealed that Raymond, driving while intoxicated, had plowed his truck into two vehicles that were stopped on the shoulder as a woman was helping to change a flat tire. At the scene, Raymond's primary concern appeared to be his damaged truck, not the victims. After failing field sobriety tests, he was arrested for DWI. The most disturbing part of the footage takes place at the police station, where an officer calmly informs Raymond that one of the victims from the crash had died. Instead of showing remorse, the driver's expression barely changes as he immediately begins to argue the technical details of the crash in an attempt to deflect blame. He was ultimately charged with homicide by vehicle.
