Secaucus Police were dispatched to 191 Flanagan Way at 6 p.m. following a report of an unruly individual outside a local church. The investigation determined that a 73-year-old man had approached a parishioner unprovoked and delivered a verbal attack centered on the victim's sexual orientation. This individual has a significant history of similar conduct, including arrests for ethnic intimidation at a coffee shop in 2023 and a racial slur incident against a couple in 2022. He was also previously accused of threatening a store employee with a knife in 2021. Local religious leadership reaffirmed the community's commitment to safety and dignity for everyone following the arrest. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide.
