Around 6:57 PM on January 31, 2026, Patrolmen Andrew White, Tyler Wilton, and Steven Camacho with the Little Silver Police Department responded to the scene of an overturned motor vehicle on Silverton Avenue. They arrived on scene and noticed that a 2022 Hyundai Elantra was upside down. Patrolman White confirmed that all the occupants of the Hyundai Elantra had exited the vehicle and made contact with the driver, who was identified as Dabin Jin. While she was unable to recall how her vehicle flipped, the officers later determined that she came into contact with a snow bank, struck a parked 2008 Acura MDX, before flipping her vehicle on the middle of the raod. Dabin told the officers that her and her passenger were coming from Casa Calaveras, a taco bar in Middletown. She was driving her passenger home to Long Branch. As he was speaking with Dabin, they officers eventually detected the odor of alcohol and observed other indicators of impairment. She admitted to consuming a few drinks earlier that evening. Based on their suspicion of impairment, Dabin was asked to perform field sobriety exercises. The first exercise was the Walk and Turn test. During the Walk and Turn test, Dabin failed to touch heel-to-toe on each step and counted backwards. The second exercise was the One Leg Stand test, and Dabin failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion while displaying a lack of balance. The final exercise was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test, and it was performed in the ambulance rig. Based on the motor vehicle crash, her admission to consuming alcohol earlier that evening, and her inability to satisfactorily complete the field sobriety exercises, Dabin was placed under arrest for DWI. The passenger in her vehicle was transported to Riverview Medical Center for further evaluation. Her vehicle was impounded for a 12-hour hold according to John’s Law. Patrolman Wilton transported Dabin to the Little Silver Police Department for further processing. At the station, the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators was read to her, and she eventually agreed to submit breath samples. Her Alcotest results indicated a BAC level of 0.145%, which was nearly double the legal limit of 0.08%. After they finished processing Dabin, she was released her boyfriend Eric Kratus pending her court appearance after he signed the Potential Liability Warning on Dabin’s behalf. Patrolman Wilton issued Dabin the following traffic tickets: -Operating under the influence (39:4-50) -Reckless driving (39:4-96) -Careless driving (39:4-97) -Unsafe operation (39:4-97.2) As of April 18, 2026, Dabin’s case is still pending in court. ---------------------------------------------- Please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and consider supporting this channel (email us for more information). (P.L. 2001, c. 404). Defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty. The New Jersey Supreme Court has previously affirmed in Salzano v. Central Jersey Media Group, 993 A.2d 778 (2010) that “The fair-report privilege reflects the judgment that the need, in a self-governing society, for free-flowing information about matters of public interest outweighs concerns over the uncompensated injury to a person's reputation.” This video advances a compelling public interest. The summary of events was based on records that are “open to public view through open access to public records” as defined in the Salzano case. In Ramos v. Flowers, 429 N.J. Super. 13, the Appellate Division of the Superior Court has also affirmed the right to film law enforcement interactions.
