On July 29, 2023 in the Village of Suamico, Wisconsin, officers were dispatched on reports of a vehicle that had gone into a ditch. The driver, identified as Joshua, reportedly fled the scene of the accident before returning and being questioned by officers. Eventually, officers cleared the scene. About an hour later, dispatch received another call from Joshua, stating that the vehicle was smoking and that he was concerned it may start on fire. It was determined the car would be towed, and Joshua stated he wanted water. The officer on scene told Joshua he could walk to a nearby gas station for water, Joshua stated he would go, but changed his mind multiple times before being told that he needed to make a decision. After another hour, dispatch received another call from Joshua stating that he did not feel well, officers once again made their way to his location. Officers told Joshua he needed to figure out a way to get to the gas station if he wanted water. 10 minutes later, dispatch received another 911 call from Joshua. Officers attempted to reason with Joshua and told him he needed to stop calling 911. He was given a citation for misuse of 911. Eventually Joshua attempted to perform FST's on location, but was unable to complete them. Because of this, Joshua was placed under arrest. Joshua was taken to the hospital where a legal blood draw took place before he was taken to jail. He was charged with and found guilty of disorderly conduct and sentenced to 30 days in local jail.
