All 3 individuals were charged with possession of undersized yellowtail snapper, possession of undersized mangrove snapper, possession of an undersized hog fish, and undersized mutton snapper. Ivan accepted a plea deal. He was sentenced to 60 hours of community service with the option to buy out the time at $10 per hour, 18 months of probation with no fishing or diving in Monroe County waters. He also completed a Florida Fishing regulations course and paid $313 fines and fees. Roberto and Alexander’s charges were dropped as part of a global plea deal. While the document does not state specifics, it is likely that Ivan accepted full responsibility for all of the undersized fish.
