He radioed dispatch and approached the vehicle, speaking with its two female occupants. While talking to them, he noticed signs that suggested impairment. The driver, identified as Samia, admitted she had one drink earlier that evening. Due to their suspicions, she was asked to perform field sobriety tests. Officer Dylan Archilla arrived to assist. The first test was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN). Next, Samia took the Walk and Turn test. During that test, she failed to touch heel to toe on each step, turned incorrectly, and stepped the wrong number of times. The last test was the One Leg Stand. During this, she did not raise her foot properly and put it down before completing the test. Because of her traffic violation, her confession of drinking, and her poor performance on the tests, she was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. Her vehicle was impounded for 12 hours under John’s Law. Officer Archilla took her to the Hoboken Police Department for further processing. At the station, Samia was read the motor vehicle operator’s rights, but she refused to give breath samples. Eventually, she was released to a sober adult who signed a warning form on her behalf. She received citations for driving under the influence, refusing a chemical test, refusing to give breath samples, reckless driving, and going the wrong way on a one-way street. 1:36 Drunk Our town lets us drive against traffic, don't worry. 7:35 That’s one crazy face she has. 14:26 The officer burping If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
