#CrimeCamNow On October 4, 2023, the Jupiter Police Department received a frantic 911 call from Jupiter Pediatric Associates in Jupiter, Florida. The caller reported that a man armed with a large knife had grabbed 65-year-old Dr. Philip Colaizzo from behind, put him in a headlock, and stabbed him at least five times before fleeing the scene. The suspect, later identified as 28-year-old Nicholas David Parchesco, had been targeting Dr. Colaizzo for unknown reasons, sending him bizarre and incoherent text messages leading up to the attack. After the stabbing, Parchesco sped away in a white Lexus sedan, sparking a high-speed chase that crossed into Indian River County. The suspect drove recklessly, side-swiping the deputy's vehicle in a desperate attempt to escape when the deputy tried to box him in. The suspect hit speeds of 120 mph, briefly gaining distance from pursuing deputies. However, with real-time updates from a helicopter relayed by the crime center, deputies stayed hot on his trail. Despite Parchesco’s dangerous attempts to evade capture, deputies successfully deployed stop sticks. The vehicle slowed down significantly after losing a tire. The suspect hit a watery median and managed to turn around. However, deputies quickly executed a successful PIT maneuver, bringing the chase to an end. During his arrest, Parchesco pleaded with officers not to shoot him. Once arrested and in the back of the deputys vehicle he made delusional claims that he had been kidnapped and feared for his life. He was charged with fleeing and eluding police and is under investigation for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, though formal charges for the stabbing have not yet been filed.
