On January 26, 2026, Lantana Police were called to Lantana Beach in Palm Beach County, Florida. Lifeguards had told a woman to stay out of the water. She had gone back in, and they were worried she would drown. When an officer made contact, she was slurring and could not stand up straight. What follows is not really an arrest video. For most of it, the officer is trying to solve a problem — he asks where her friend is, twice. He offers to let her call someone. He explains that he can't leave an intoxicated person alone next to the ocean, and that she needs to get a ride home. She spent several minutes telling him what she thought of him. He did not raise his voice once. The arrest happened only after she agreed to call a car and then walked past the patrol vehicles instead. She was charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting an officer without violence — two misdemeanors — and held overnight at the Palm Beach County Jail. ⚖️ BOTH CHARGES WERE LATER DROPPED.
