On April 9th 2021, Officer Demars of the Stow Police Department was on patrol when he noticed a vehicle commit a moving violation as well as a license plate violation. Officer Demars attempted to pull the suspect over, later identified as Jevonte Jones. Mr. Jones did not stop and continued. Soon, Officer Barry then attempted to use spike strips to stop the pursuit. Mr. Jones then decided to ram his vehicle into Officer Barry. The pursuit was then terminated. Mr. Jones was arrested 6 days later by a federal task force. This is Officer Barry's second time being hit be a vehicle in two years.
