On May 16, 2025, at approximately 1:00 AM, 10 inmates executed a daring escape from the Orleans Parish Justice Center in New Orleans. Using a faulty toilet as a cover, they pulled off one of the most brazen jailbreaks in recent U.S. history. The escape was so easy, the inmates even left behind graffiti mocking the security breach: “Too Easy LOL.” In this full breakdown, we show you the actual surveillance footage of the escape, as well as high-speed police dashcam and bodycam footage of the manhunt that followed. You’ll see the dramatic moment officers captured two of the escapees — Leo Tate and Jermaine Donald — during a wild police pursuit in Walker County, Texas. Both were later booked and charged. Eight of the ten escapees have now been recaptured. The two still on the run — Antoine Massey and Derrick Groves — remain at large as authorities intensify the manhunt. In a shocking twist, a jail maintenance worker was arrested after admitting he turned off the water to the toilet that hid the escape hole. He is being held on a $1.1 million bond and faces serious charges for his role in aiding the escape.
