On November 4, 2022, in La Cross, Wisconsin, officers responded to reports of a vehicle that was quote "hung up on a median." Upon arrival, there were no occupants in the vehicle. Subsequently, a tow truck was called to move the vehicle off the median and shortly after, the driver of the vehicle returned to the location of the incident. The driver, named Jaiden, was run through FST's and was eventually asked if she would be willing to do a PBT. She declined, stating she would like to speak to her lawyer. Officers arrested her under suspicion of OWI. Jaiden began resisting and continually telling the officers to grab her phone. Officers attempted to get her in a squad car and she continued being uncooperative. She was insistent that the law stated she could call her mother before she was brought to jail. She was eventually taken to another squad car where officers were able to get her in the vehicle and take her to the hospital for an evidentiary blood draw. While there, she repeatedly stated she would not cooperate unless she was able to speak to her mother. Eventually, she was allowed to talk to her mother on the phone but she still was not cooperative even after being told by her mother to cooperate. Jaiden was charged with OWI, 2nd, Operating with prohibited alcohol concentration, 2nd, resisting or obstructing an officer, failure to keep vehicle under control, failure to notify police of accident, refusing to take test for intoxication after arrest, and hit and run, property adjacent to highway. She was found guilty of OWI and sentenced to 20 days in local jail. She also had her license revoked for 14 months.
