He hit his lights for a stop. The car pulled up by a parking garage entrance. He approached the driver, 25-year-old Isabella Shenk. While talking, Bailey spotted signs of impairment. He smelled alcohol too. Shenk said she and her passenger left Reservoir Bar in Ybor City. She admitted downing two beers before driving. Bailey suspected DUI. He asked her out of the car for sobriety tests. First came the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus check. Next, the Walk and Turn. Shenk missed heel-to-toe steps. She forgot to count out loud. Her turn went wrong. Then, One Leg Stand. She failed to lift her foot right. The stop sign run, impairment clues, beer admission, and poor tests led to arrest for driving under the influence. Her friend argued with officers, then walked off. Bailey drove Shenk to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for booking. She took a breath test. Results hit 0.129 and 0.133—above the 0.08 limit.
