Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: At 7:49 PM on November 5, 2025, Patrolman Daniel DeVito arrived at 246 Millbrook Avenue. He spoke with Christopher Hasner, who drove a Ford Transit work van. Hasner said another car hit his van after running a stop sign at the Route 10 West jug handle. The other driver tried to flee. Hasner managed to snap a photo of the license plate when the car stopped at a red light. Back at the station, DeVito checked the plate. It belonged to a gray 2015 Subaru Outback owned by Susan Gerecht. He found a phone number for 27-year-old Amanda Gerecht, who fit the description. DeVito left voicemails for both women. Susan called back soon. She confirmed Amanda works in Randolph. Around 9:10 PM, DeVito called Amanda about the hit-and-run. She admitted she was driving the Subaru. She said the crash happened after she left Crabby's bar. She told the officer she was home in Hopatcong with her boyfriend. Amanda denied drinking, but DeVito warned her not to drive if she had. At 10:40 PM, dispatch told DeVito that Amanda had arrived at the police station. She was with her parents and her boyfriend, Thomas Lamotta. Lamotta drove her there in the Subaru. Her parents came in a different car. While talking to her, DeVito smelled alcohol and saw signs she was impaired. Amanda still denied drinking. DeVito asked her to do sobriety tests. He decided she was impaired and arrested her for DWI. Officers handcuffed her and took her into the station through the sally port. She was read the standard motor vehicle statement and agreed to a breath test. Her Alcotest showed a BAC of 0.081%, which is over the 0.08% legal limit. Amanda waived her Miranda rights and admitted she drank three Martinis at Crabby's. She said she drank nothing else after leaving. After processing, she was released to Lamotta after he signed a liability form. Amanda received these citations: Operating under the influence (39:4-50) Reckless driving (39:4-96) Careless driving (39:4-97) Disregarding a stop sign (39:4-144) Leaving the scene of an accident (39:4-129) Failure to report an accident (39:4-130) Her case is still pending in the Randolph Township Municipal Court as of March 23, 2026.
