Methamphetamine is back to killing more Pinal County residents than fentanyl. On Friday, K9 and Anti-Smuggling Unit deputies took another huge load off the streets. The investigation started with an interdiction stop on I-10. That eventually led deputies to Phoenix where they seized 129 pounds of meth, 50 pounds of fentanyl pills and 4 pounds of fentanyl powder. In 2023, the Pinal County Office of the Medical Examiner investigated 44 deaths linked to methamphetamine. In 2024, the number increased to 61, while fentanyl was linked to 40. APPLY NOW!
