On March 25, 2024, deputies from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office in Palm Coast, Florida, responded to a call at a local Walmart after a witness reported a woman had passed all points of sale with a cart full of items and refused to show a receipt. The woman admitted she loaded a cart with an estimated $1,030 worth of merchandise and placed it into a vehicle in the parking lot before fleeing on foot when she realized she was being watched. She told deputies she was playing a so-called “game” called “21”, wherein a person takes as many items as possible from a store and tries to leave without paying or getting caught. “It’s a game… it’s really fun!” she told law-enforcement in body-cam footage. During the vehicle search, deputies found marijuana, hashish, alprazolam, methamphetamine (about 62 grams), a digital scale, and a locked safe containing silver and platinum bars. She was arrested and faces multiple charges including grand theft (under the Florida statute for theft valued between $750 and $5,000) and trafficking in methamphetamine (28 g–200 g), among other drug-possession and paraphernalia charges. Bond was set at $34,000. All information in this video was obtained through public records requests and official reports. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
