March 10, 2023 [Columbia, FL] An officer observed a silver Honda failing to maintain a single lane. The vehicle crossed the centerline once and also crossed the side line twice. The vehicle then failed to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. The driver proceeded to tailgate the driver in front of her. After observing all of this, a traffic stop was conducted. The officer immediately noticed the driver’s eyes to be bloodshot red, glassy, and watery. Her face appeared to be flush and her speech was thick-tongued. An open bottle of Michelob Ultra was observed in the cupholder closest to her. The driver quickly became argumentative. After getting out of the car, the driver resisted when being detained. The rest of this incident went poorly for the driver. Thankfully, nobody was injured, but it easily could have ended differently for the driver, passenger, and other drivers on the public road.
