As officers cross-examined both parties, they began to suspect the caller had fabricated her story and was attempting to manipulate the investigation. When she realized her version of events was unraveling, she tried to flee but was prevented by officers, who then decided to arrest her for her obstructive behavior and apparent falsehoods. At the station, further evidence confirmed she had misled law enforcement, prompting charges for disorderly conduct, making a false report to 911, and domestic battery.
