After a sharp-eyed manager reported his suspicious behavior, police located Zhu and found over 1,800 tampered gift cards in his vehicle — linked to a large-scale "draining" scam. This gift card fraud method targets unsuspecting customers and exploits activation systems, with criminals stealing thousands in seconds.
