As they approached, they noticed vomit on the driver’s side door and on the person sleeping in the driver’s seat. When the driver, later identified as 28-year-old Ricky Gonzalez of Fairview, woke up, officers observed him to have bloodshot eyes, and he appeared to be confused. They also detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath. Police Officer Ricky Truppner responded to the scene to conduct a standard field sobriety test, after which Gonzalez was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. A search incident to arrest found him to be in possession of a small baggie containing a white powdery substance suspected to be CDS, crack cocaine. Gonzalez was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, where he was processed on charges of possession of CDS and driving while intoxicated.
