He advised me that the suspect was unlicensed and the vehicle he was driving had expired expiration Det. The officer advised that the suspect was also an active gang member. The vehicle that Atkinson was driving a white Honda Civic. Officer observed the vehicle traveling northbound on Gaines School Rd toward Lexington Rd. Officer fell in behind the vehicle and activated my emergency blue lights signaling the vehicle to pull over. The vehicle pulled into the parking lot. The vehicle came to a stop and the suspect began to get out of the car. The officer told him to stay in the vehicle and he sat down. He then got out of the car again and pulled his pants. The suspect then ran in front of his car and officer began to chase after him. The suspect continued running behind the Goodwill building. The suspect was wearing a red hoodie and red sweat pants. The officers following the suspect, but he attempted to climb over a barbwire fence. The officer attempted to deploy his taser, but it was not effective. Only one probe hit the suspect in the upper torso arca. The suspect was able to clear the fence and the officer lost contact with him. Officers began to set up a perimeter in the are. The officer went the last known area of where he saw the suspect and was about to deploy K-9 Vilma for a track. The officer was then notified that a red hoodie was in the wood line between The Oaks and the old Gaines School Elementary. The officer deployed K-9 Vilma in that area and began tracking up to the red hoodie. K-9 Vilma downed on the article. A citizen then called into central advised a black male wearing a red sweat pants and not shirt was hiding in the woods behind his house. This address was in the area of where the suspect was last seen running.
