On August 22, 2023, in Grand Chute Wisconsin, officers were dispatched to a residence due to reports of a disturbance between a man and a woman. It was reported that the man was intoxicated. Upon arrival, the officers questioned the man, named John. He stated he was at a bar with a neighbor, and when he came back from the bar, his wife did not want to let him into the house. She reportedly pushed him 3 or 4 times, and he then pushed her back. John was uncooperative with police and eventually he walked into his garage. Officers followed him and asked him to leave the garage. He did after some convincing and a drink of an alcoholic beverage. John's demeanor went from happy to angry multiple times. Eventually he went back into the garage, officers ordered him not to, and he exited again. His daughter was outside and asked him to cooperate stating the police wanted to make sure he was safe. He approached her daughter in a manner officers thought was threatening enough to place him under arrest. He was taken to the ground after resisting being handcuffed. John continued yelling at police saying he did nothing wrong and was finally placed into the back of a squad car and taken to jail. John was charged with resisting or obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct.
