On February 27 and 28, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office increased smuggling enforcement on Interstate 10, along with Homeland Security Investigations. In the joint operation, deputies made 65 traffic stops, and 5 felony arrests were made. One stolen vehicle was recovered, 11 undocumented aliens were turned over to Border Patrol and $140,000 in southbound cash was seized. “I want to thank my interdiction deputies, along with our state and federal partners, for the work they do protecting Pinal County and the rest of America,” Sheriff Ross Teeple said, “from the problems that are spilling across the border and into our communities.”
