It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: On December 29, 2024, around 5:50 PM, police responded to a crash. It happened in a parking lot on State Route 36. Jennifer B. Healy worked at Portside Bar & Liquors. She tried to drive away while impaired. Her 2021 Ford Explorer hit a 2014 Chevy Silverado. Healy left her phone in her car. She ran from the scene on foot. Her Beagle, Brandy, was with her. Patrolman Peter Bracken got to the scene at 6:10 PM. He met Healy's daughter. The daughter took an Uber to the location. The Silverado owner did not want to press charges. Healy's daughter told Patrolman Bracken where her mother might go. Patrolman Kenneth Ross and SLEO2 Courtney found Healy. She was walking on the Henry Hudson Bike Trail. This was near Thompson Avenue. Patrolman Bracken also went to that spot. He spoke with Healy. He smelled alcohol on her. He saw other signs of impairment. SLEO2 took Brandy. The dog slipped its leash. It ran from Healy. Patrolman Bracken took Healy to another place. He wanted to do sobriety tests. She failed the Walk and Turn. She also failed the One Leg Stand test. Healy crashed her car. She smelled of alcohol. She could not pass the tests. Patrolman Bracken arrested her for driving under the influence. As they put her in the patrol car, Healy kicked the officers. Her car was towed for 12 hours. This followed John’s Law. Patrolman Bracken drove Healy to the police department. Patrolman Daniel Flannigan read Healy a statement. This happened in the sally port. She refused to give breath samples. During processing, Healy was loud. She did not cooperate. Security footage showed her actions. She flushed socks down a toilet. She was in a cell. After photos and prints, officers took her to jail. Patrolman Ross gave Healy several tickets. She was charged with operating under the influence. She was charged with reckless driving. Careless driving was another charge. She refused a chemical test. She did not report the accident. She left the scene of property damage. She lacked insurance proof. Patrolman Bracken also filed criminal charges. These included simple assault. Obstructing law administration was another charge. Resisting arrest was also charged. Court records showed prior issues for Healy. She was ticketed for leaving an accident scene. This was on January 19, 2023. She had three previous DWI arrests. Those were in 2009, 2011, and 2018. Healy's daughter called Patrick D. Healy. He spoke about his work. He used to be a prosecutor in Middletown. Township records show his father's work. Patrick D. Healy, Esq. served as an Alternate Municipal Prosecutor. This was as recent as 2017. Healy was arrested again later. This was for assault in Hazlet Township. The date was March 6, 2025. Healy's latest DWI case is still in court. This case is from Middletown.
