On February 14, 2025, Las Cruces Police Officer Loya stopped a vehicle for allegedly failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. The vehicle was being driven by a 38-year-old woman. She admitted to consuming 3 beers earlier in the evening, so she was asked to exit her vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. In the process, she urinated on herself. She was eventually arrested and was transported to the Las Cruces Police Station. She provided two breath samples, which registered 0.20% and 0.21% BAC. She was charged with Aggravated Driving While Under the Influence of Liquor. The outcome of her case is unknown.
