Officers shoot the man who fired at a Texas DPS trooper and led police on a 90-minute manhunt — then immediately fight to keep him alive. On May 13, 2025, a Texas DPS traffic stop in Brownsville, Texas turns into gunfire, a vehicle pursuit, a foot chase, and a 90-minute multi-agency search. When 25-year-old Alberto Pintor Jr. is located holding a pistol, Texas DPS, Brownsville Police, and Border Patrol agents confront him. According to the official account, officers order him to drop the weapon before the situation turns into a shooting. What happens immediately afterward is captured on Border Patrol bodycam footage. Agents move in to provide emergency care, checking his wounds, monitoring his condition, controlling bleeding, keeping him responsive, and preparing him for transport while waiting for EMS. Brownsville Fire Department and EMS eventually take over and transport him to Valley Baptist Hospital. He survives the shooting. The incident was investigated by Texas DPS, CBP's Office of Professional Responsibility, the FBI, Brownsville Police, and the Department of Homeland Security's Inspector General. The bodycam footage was released by U.S. Customs and Border Protection on June 13, 2025. This video examines the police pursuit, foot chase, officer-involved shooting, Border Patrol bodycam footage, and the emergency response that followed.
