It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: On July 30, 2025, around 3:58 PM, Officer Christopher Gilmore of the Little Silver Police was called. The location was the parking lot at 507 Prospect Avenue. A car crash had been reported. He arrived quickly. A 2024 Kia Sorento had hit a 2018 Honda CR-V. The Honda had damage on the back driver's side. It was not too bad. The Honda's driver, a 72-year-old woman, and her 68-year-old sister were parked. Their car was not moving. The Kia's driver was at fault. Officer Gilmore spoke with the Kia driver. Her name was Jill Mannix. He smelled alcohol. Jill said she was going to get her nails done. She first said she hadn't had any drinks that day. Later, she admitted to drinking wine the day before. Sergeant Scott Lorenson came to help due to the suspicion of impairment. The Honda's occupants could drive away. Jill was asked to do some tests. Sergeant Lorenson began with a vision test. Then came the Walk and Turn test. Jill didn't walk heel-to-toe. She turned the wrong way. The last test was the One Leg Stand. Jill didn't lift her foot correctly. She put it down too soon. The crash, signs of drinking, and failed tests led to Jill's arrest. She was charged with driving under the influence. Her car was taken for 12 hours. This was under John's Law. Officer Gilmore took Jill to the police station. She was read a statement. She agreed to take a breath test. After waiting 20 minutes, she blew into the device. Her blood alcohol level was 0.332%. This is over four times the legal limit of 0.08%. After processing and getting tickets, Jill was released. A responsible adult signed for her. She will go to court later. Officer White gave Jill these tickets: Driving under the influence, reckless driving, and careless driving.
