Around midnight on the evening of October 20, 2022, Secaucus Police were called to the parking lot near the Secaucus Junction train station with a report of a potentially intoxicated driver. As Officer Garzone approached the vehicle, he could detect the odor of an alcoholic beverage from the vehicle. The driver, later identified as 26-year-old Alissa Devine, insisted that she was not intoxicated, and that it was her younger brother in the passenger seat of the car who was impaired. She told the officer that they were about to head home from the Rangers game, after the New York Rangers lost 3-2 to the San Jose Sharks. Upon further investigation, Officer Garzone offered Devine an opportunity to perform field sobriety exercises. Officer Garzone initially performed the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test, and the results indicated potential impairment. As she walked, Devine seemed to have a lack of balance and fine motor coordination. Subsequently, Devine failed to adequately perform the Walk and Turn and One Leg Stand tests. Based on her admission to consuming alcohol along with her failure to adequately perform the field sobriety exercises, Devine was arrested for driving under the influence. When she was brought to the station, Devine agreed to take a breathalyzer test. After Devine was processed, she was subsequently released to her sister after she signed the Potential Liability Warning form on her behalf. She was released with the following citations: Operating Under the Influence and Careless Driving ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and consider supporting this channel (email us for more information).
