Incident Information: On October 10th, 2024, Hamtramck (Michigan) Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for disregarding a red traffic signal and not displaying a license plate. Upon contacting the driver, officers discovered she did not have a valid driver's license. After ordering her out of the vehicle numerous times, police make the decision to extract the driver for resisting and obstructing. After breaking the window, the driver and two other occupants assault police before fleeing. The trio takes Hamtramck Police on a pursuit within the city at speeds of 70+ MPH in 25 MPH zones. After blowing five red lights, the driver collides with stationary traffic. The impact killed two community members and, according to local media, an unborn child of one of the suspects. The driver was arrested and charged with numerous felony charges and was sentenced to 7-15 years in MDOC. The passengers, at the time of writing, appear to have not been charged.
