Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: At 1 a.m. on August 20, 2025, Monmouth Beach Patrolman Matthew Golembieski spotted a northbound 2009 Honda Accord. It swerved on Ocean Avenue near Valentine Street. Its high beams blazed too. He tailed the car. The driver kept swerving and crept below the speed limit. Golembieski flipped on his lights for a stop. The car pulled over near Ocean Avenue and Seacrest Road. He stepped out and approached the driver, Christine Barba. He tapped the passenger window. She opened the wrong one at first. Christine fumbled for her papers. She said she drove Uber and picked up folks near Pier Village in Long Branch. Later, she admitted coming from Rooney’s Oceanfront Restaurant. She had eaten dinner there with friends. She first denied any drinks. But at the station, she told Patrolman Peter Farmer about one cocktail at the bar. Golembieski checked her license back in his cruiser. He suspected she was impaired. He asked her out of the car for sobriety tests. First came the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. He saw all 6 of 6 clues. Next was Lack of Convergence. Then Walk and Turn. She missed heel-to-toe touches, took wrong steps, and turned badly. One Leg Stand followed. She didn't lift her foot right and dropped it early. Last was Modified Romberg Balance. Her wild drive, muddled talk, and botched tests led to a DWI arrest. Christine turned hostile and fought back. No resisting charge came. After a short tussle, cops got her in the cruiser. They impounded her car for 12 hours under John’s Law. Golembieski drove her to the station. There, they read the Standard Statement for drivers. She refused breath tests. After processing, her dad took her home. He signed the Potential Liability Warning for her court date.
