On May 12, 2023, in Sturtevant, Wisconsin, an on duty officer in an unmarked patrol car witnessed a vehicle on the roadway that was frequently speeding up and slowing down, coming very close to the vehicle in front of it. The officer also witnessed the vehicle's tires cross into a different lane multiple times. Because of this, a traffic stop was initiated. After speaking with the driver, identified as Kimberly, the officer noticed that she was slurring her speech. After another officer arrived, they asked her to get out of her vehicle to complete FST's. Over the course of the tests, officers noted multiple factors that lead them to believe that Kimberly was intoxicated. When officers told Kimberly she was under arrest due to suspicion of driving while intoxicated, she immediately became tense and was resistive. Officers eventually were able to get her in the squad and take her to the hospital for a legal blood draw. Her BAC was indicated as 0.12.
