On June 5, 2024, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a solo vehicle car accident. When asked if she had been drinking, the 27-year-old woman stated she had been sober for 5 months. However Corporal Nieto stated he could smell alcohol, so the woman was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She was arrested for DUI and was transported to the hospital for medical clearance before being transported to jail. She refused to submit to a breath alcohol test. She was charged with Aggravated Driving While Under the Influence (Refusal to Test) and Careless Driving. Her case remains open with her next court date scheduled for August 27, 2024. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
