A 2019 Honda Civic had slammed into a telephone pole, splitting it in two. The car's front end looked wrecked, and its airbags had popped open. Smith spotted the driver right away. He knew her as Taylor from an earlier stop that night. Soon, Officers Cole Szymanski, Scott Myers, Corporal Daniel Parrish, and Sergeant Kirk Griffin showed up to help. Szymanski asked Taylor to tell her side. She said her boyfriend had dumped her that day. She tried calling him while driving to his place, then turned back home. As they talked, he smelled alcohol on her breath. But they skipped sobriety tests. She seemed hurt. The crash, the alcohol smell, and her shaky state led them to arrest Taylor for drunk driving. A quick search of her car turned up a legal drug that could mess with driving if used before. They impounded the Honda for 12 hours under John's Law. Long Valley First Aid took her to Morristown Medical Center for checks. Parrish got a warrant for a blood test. Szymanski watched as they drew her blood there. The sealed kit went to the New Jersey State Police lab in East Hanover. Tests showed her blood alcohol at 0.116% g/100mL. After that, Parrish and Szymanski drove Taylor to the station for more steps. There, they read her Miranda rights. She chose not to talk. Once paperwork wrapped up, officers took her home and let her go to her mom. Her mom signed the liability form for her. Taylor got tickets for drunk driving, underage drunk driving, reckless driving, straying from lanes, using a phone while driving, and no seat belt. Court files show Taylor pleaded guilty on March 31, 2024, to drunk driving and phone use. She faced 12 hours at a drunk driver class, three months with an ignition lock on her car, and $880 in fines. The other four tickets vanished in the deal. 40:34 She’s just now realizing the car is totaled. If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
