On June 18, 2024, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, an officer was in the process of responding to a call when he witnessed an unrelated woman screaming profanities at a man before throwing a mostly full soda can at him. Initially, the officer thought the call he was on was related to the couple. He found out they were not, and was ready to leave the scene to assist the other call. While the officer was leaving, he witnessed the woman pushing and hitting the man. Because of this, he got out of his squad and asked the woman to stop walking away from him. The woman refused and continued walking. Another officer arrived and the two took the suspect, named Jennifer, to the ground and handcuffed her. She stated multiple times that she would harm herself if she was taken to jail instead of the psych ward. She admitted that she did not want to harm herself shortly after. She was then taken to jail without incident. Jennifer was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct, one count with a domestic abuse modifier, resisting or obstructing an officer and misdemeanor bail jumping. She was found guilty on both counts of disorderly conduct and sentenced to 41 days in local jail as well as 12 months of probation. ❓Inquiries: LensOfLaw@gmail.com ☕Support Me: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/lensoflaw 🔗My Links: https://lensoflaw.com The content we highlight is designed to provide a real-life glimpse into the encounters of law enforcement, not to demean or belittle those featured.
