On January 15, 2023, at approximately 12:55 AM in Bentonville, Arkansas, police conducted a traffic stop on a black SUV that was swerving between lanes. The driver, 27 year old Brooke Teague, was visibly impaired and agreed to perform a field sobriety test. After failing to complete the test satisfactorily, she was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. During the inventory search, officers discovered vomit in the center console’s cup holders—an undeniable sign that she should not have been behind the wheel. Brooke later submitted to a breathalyzer, and after a 20-minute observation period, blew a 0.14% BAC—nearly double the legal limit of 0.08% for drivers in Arkansas. But what made this traffic stop so memorable wasn’t just the high BAC or the arrest—it was the tone of the interaction. Brooke and the officer shared genuine moments of laughter throughout the stop. It was a strange mix of professionalism and light-hearted conversation that felt more like a quirky meet-cute than a criminal offense. Watch the full bodycam footage of this truly unusual DUI arrest.
