Ringwood police alerted Wanaque officers. The witness followed the Nissan. The driver pulled over on Melrose Avenue. She then entered the House of Smoke. Patrolman Donald Pasquariello met the witness. The witness was inside the shop. The Nissan had damage. It matched the guardrail impact. Pasquariello talked to the witness. Another officer spoke with the woman inside. The witness had video. It showed the car swerving. Jillian Biegel, 22, drove the Nissan. Officers smelled alcohol on Jillian. They saw other signs of impairment. She claimed she was okay to drive. She agreed to sobriety tests. Patrolman William Lopez gave the HGN test. Jillian then took the Walk and Turn. She failed to touch heel-to-toe. Her turn was also incorrect. The One Leg Stand followed. Jillian couldn't keep her foot up. She put it down early. Damaged car, witness accounts, alcohol smell. Jillian failed the tests. Pasquariello arrested her. Driving under the influence was the charge. John's Law meant a 12-hour car hold. Pasquariello took Jillian to Wanaque police. She remained uncooperative. She was read the Standard Statement. Jillian agreed to breath samples. Their Alcotest machine was broken. They took her to Ringwood police. Her BAC was 0.13 percent. This is over the 0.08 limit. They brought her back to Wanaque. Jillian made troubling comments. She needed hospital evaluation. Officers went to take her. She refused to walk. They had to shackle her. She threatened to spit. She called Pasquariello “Hitler”. This was because of his mustache. St. Joseph's Hospital evaluated her. She returned to Wanaque police. Her mother picked her up. Her mother signed the liability form. Pasquariello gave Jillian tickets. These included DUI and careless driving. She also lacked a license. She did not have registration. The insurance card was missing. Jillian pleaded guilty on June 13, 2024. She admitted to DWI and lacking a license. She got an ignition interlock for three months. She spent 12 hours at a center.
