Watch this police interrogation with intense raw interrogation from the interrogation room as police conduct a full interrogation of a suspect. This raw interrogation footage captures every moment of the suspect interview, complete with deception detection techniques, and criminal psychology in true JCS style interrogation. The Background Victoria Prokopovitz, 59, lived with her husband, James Prokopovitz, at 5118 Kunesh Road in the Town of Pittsfield, about 15 miles northwest of Green Bay. They had been married about 22 years. An adult son also lived in the home. Victoria had a documented history of depression and other mental-health treatment. Prosecutors later presented testimony that she had described James as controlling about money and dismissive of her mental health. James’s former wife also testified about prior abuse in her own marriage to him. Prosecutors argued the motive was that James wanted out of the marriage and to resume a relationship with Kathryn (Kathy) Friday, a former girlfriend. He began seeing Friday within months of Victoria’s disappearance. The couple also had financial strain, including unpaid medical bills and foreclosure issues. James later removed Victoria from his insurance. Friday was charged separately with perjury and obstruction for lying with James about when their relationship began. She pleaded no contest. She died in November 2020 before sentencing; the state then dismissed her remaining charges. The Crime Victoria was last seen at the family home around 10:00 p.m. on April 25, 2013. James said he went to bed then and that this was the last time he saw her. He said he woke around 4:00 a.m. on April 26, found her gone, looked around the property, then went to work. He reported her missing later that afternoon after returning home. Some accounts note he first contacted authorities early that morning. She left behind her purse, identification, cash, and cell phone. Medication was reported missing. There was no confirmed sighting after that night. Extensive searches, including areas tied to James’s work hauling paper waste, did not locate her. The state did not prove a specific method of killing or a confirmed disposal site. Prosecutors argued he caused her death at or near the home and then concealed her body. James later mentioned industrial sludge ponds at work while denying he used them. The Investigation James first suggested suicide or that someone picked her up. Phone records did not support his claim that he called her about dinner on the day she vanished. He did not join some searches and did not tell some coworkers she was missing. Investigators used search warrants, financial records, insurance changes, and years of interviews. A secret John Doe proceeding produced sworn testimony from many witnesses, including James and Friday. In 2019, after John Doe testimony, both were arrested. James admitted under oath that he and Friday had lied for years about when they got together, saying they feared how it would look. He denied killing Victoria. Prosecutors also said he made and then recanted an admission that he killed her. Jail informants later testified he said she would never be found. A recorded call with a relative included a remark about possibly fleeing. He also discussed sludge ponds in sworn testimony while denying he disposed of her there. Victoria remains listed as missing; the Wisconsin DOJ still asks the public for information on her location. Conviction and Sentencing James was charged in May 2019 (Brown County case 19CF716) with first-degree intentional homicide with a domestic-abuse modifier, resisting/obstructing an officer, perjury before a court, and conspiracy to commit perjury. Bond was set at $2 million. Trial began in February 2021 in Brown County Circuit Court. James did not testify. The defense called no witnesses and argued the case was circumstantial and still a missing-person case. The jury deliberated about 23–24 hours. On February 27, 2021, the jury found him guilty of all four counts: first-degree intentional homicide (domestic abuse), obstructing an officer, perjury before court with a conspiracy modifier, and perjury before court. On May 26, 2021, Judge William Atkinson sentenced him to life in prison without parole on the homicide count, plus additional time on the other counts that does not change the life term. James declined to speak. The judge urged him to tell Victoria’s children where she is. true crime, law and crime network, interrogation, interrogation analysis, red thread interrogations, interrogation jcs inspired, interrogation jcs style, interrogation psychology, interrogation psychology jcs inspired, new interrogations 2026,interrogation breakdown, police interrogation psychology, bodycam, interview, case analysis, bodycam footage, crime investigation, police interrogation, suspect interview, int, interrogations 2026,interrogation videos, jcs true crime
