On March 28, PCSO was called to assist with multiple wildfires along State Route 79 south of Florence. PCSO believes the fire was started by a vehicle dragging chains. Multiple different fires ignited over the course of more than 10 miles. The highway was temporarily closed between Oracle Junction and Park Link Drive. If the weather would have been hotter or windier, the situation could have been much worse.
